New Semester, New Officers, New Logo!
Joey Mays ’16 and Emily Haines ’17 have worked hard to create a new logo for the Classics Society and we are pleased to present what they designed!
The overall design is similar to the original logo with two crossed swords and a victory wreath, but now it includes the initials CCS for Colgate Classics Society. Joey and Emily also developed a new motto to go along with the logo: NON VI SED VERBIS (Not with strength, but with words).
If you would like to order a mug contact Joey Mays at jmays@colgate.edu.
As the semester began in January with the return of students and faculty to the snow abyss known as Colgate, some members of the Classics Society remained off campus with exciting study abroad opportunities. Among those members were Casidhe Holland (Pro-Consul Fall 2014) and Michelle Cao (Treasurer Fall 2014). With the loss of two important officers, the Classics Society had major shoes to fill at the start of a new semester. Without further ado, here is the new list of Colgate Classics Society Officers for Spring 2015 (new members names bolded):
Consuls: Megan Delaney and Joey Mays
Scribe: Niall Durkan
Treasurer: Zach Abt
Historians: Katie Mears and Aliya Williams
Public Relations: Emily Haines
Faculty Advisor: Professor Seth Holm
